Cal Crutchlow

Cal Crutchlow is a British professional motorcycle rider currently riding for the LCR Honda team in the MotoGP championship.

Unlike most of the other MotoGP riders, Cal Crutchlow did not enter the Moto3 and the Moto2 championships. Instead, the Briton chose to ply his trade in the Supersport and Superbike Championships before moving to MotoGP.

His initial years of professional motorcycle racing revolved around British Supersport and Superbike championships. Crutchlow made his British Supersport debut in 2004 driving for the Honda and had a lacklustre first season. The Briton rose to fame the following season when finished the championship in the third place and secured two wins in the process. He bettered himself in the 2006 season and took the championship home. Crutchlow finished on the podium in all the races that he managed to finish that year.

The British rider spent the next two years in the British Superbike championship, where he secured two race wins along with thirteen podiums.

Cal Crutchlow competed in the 2010 World Supersport championship and won the championship gold in his very first season while riding for Yamaha. The Briton secured five race wins in the process. Spectacular performances in the Supersport championship saw him move to the Superbike championship the following year. Crutchlow had a very good debut season, which saw him win three races to finish the season in the fifth place.

MotoGP class

Cal Crutchlow signed a contract with the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team and made his MotoGP debut in 2011. He stayed with Yamaha for two more years during which he managed to secure six podiums. However, a MotoGP win eluded the British rider during his stint with the Satellite Yamaha team.

Cal Crutchlow rode for the Ducati team in the 2014 season, where he endured a disappointing season that saw him finish the season in the thirteenth place.

LCR Honda was his new team for 2015 MotoGP championship. The Briton showed good pace that year but failed to secure a MotoGP win. An improved machine in the next season saw him take his first MotoGP win at Brno. His second win came later that season at the Australian Grand Prix in Philip Island.

Cal Crutchlow won the 2018 Argentine Grand Prix and is currently in the eighth place in the championships standings.
